Through 3 Quarters

The Charlotte 49ers are giving their home crowd exactly what it was hoping to see. Three quarters in and their offense has really been able to impose its will, dominating the Gardner-Webb Runnin' Bulldogs 38-10 three quarters in. The 49ers are looking to build off of a victory while Gardner-Webb is hoping to get their season back on track after a defeat.

Charlotte has yet to string together two consecutive wins, but this may be their chance. For now, all signs point to yes.

What to Know

The Gardner-Webb Runnin' Bulldogs are staying on the road Saturday to face off against the Charlotte 49ers at 6 p.m. ET Sept. 11 at Jerry Richardson Stadium. The Runnin' Bulldogs will be seeking to avenge the 49-28 loss they suffered the last time these two teams played Aug. 29 of 2019.

Last week, Gardner-Webb was within a late touchdown of stealing the win, but they took the "L" against the Georgia Southern Eagles 30-25. Despite the loss, Gardner-Webb got a solid performance out of QB Bailey Fisher, who passed for three TDs and 315 yards on 45 attempts.

Meanwhile, it was a close one, but last Friday Charlotte sidestepped the Duke Blue Devils for a 31-28 victory. QB Chris Reynolds had a stellar game for Charlotte as he passed for three TDs and 324 yards on 30 attempts in addition to rushing for one TD and 37 yards. Near the top of the highlight reel was Reynolds' 56-yard TD bomb to WR Grant DuBose in the first quarter.

Charlotte's victory lifted them to 1-0 while Gardner-Webb's defeat dropped them down to 0-1. We'll see if Charlotte's success rolls on or if the Runnin' Bulldogs are able to steal their positive momentum.
